HiveIQ Base & Lid Kit w/ Queen Excluder

The HiveIQ Base & Lid Kit gives you everything needed to cap and floor a HiveIQ hive — the bottom board, top cover with metal strong-back, varroa/winter board, and metal queen excluder. Buy your deep and medium boxes separately and configure however many stories you need. This is the kit to add when you're expanding an existing HiveIQ setup or building a second colony from individual boxes.

The base includes a three-stage hive entrance for robbing control and a blanking plate that covers the optional pollen trap opening if you're not running a trap. The components ship flat-packed and assemble with a screwdriver and the included screws. Apply a bead of silicone between the metal lid and the foam top to prevent movement and reduce gaps from thermal expansion.

Does Not Work With

• Standard Langstroth wooden boxes — dimensions match but EPS and wood do not seal together

Feeding Recommendation

Use the Deep Internal Frame Feeder or Medium Internal Frame Feeder inside the boxes. Internal feeders sit within the insulated stack without breaking the thermal seal. Top feeders are not compatible with this lid design.
